Reykjavik: New Years Fireworks Midnight Cruise

2.Reykjavik: New Years Fireworks Midnight Cruise

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 24 reviews · 2 hours · from $170

Review of Reykjavik’s New Year’s Eve yacht cruise, with fireworks, champagne, bay views, pricing, practical tips, and honest drawbacks.

“Extremely disappointed, expecting a 2 hour cruise experience with views of fireworks , we were taken from where the boat was docked and we floated at anchor in the bay opposite the city of Reykjavik for two hours ! Basically a floating bar at the cost of £239.74p Sterling for 2 passengers . We did get a glass of free champagne ( hardly free it’s paid for within the costings ) Free WiFi , hit and miss connection if you want to send new year Greetings . The company let off 4 off their own fireworks before returning to Dock ( The othered were free to view from anywhere in…”

6.Reykjavik Christmas Walking Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 18 reviews · 2 hours (approx.) · from $75

Explore Reykjavik’s Christmas traditions, folklore, markets, music, and landmarks on a friendly two-hour walking tour.

“Went to Iceland for Christmas. The tour gave a sense of the city of Reykjavik and Icelandic Christmas traditions (the black cat, 13 trolls, fermented shark/rays, etc). The tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. The tour takes you to the national Christmas tree, a large cathedral. and a couple of shops. The guide mixed in some general information about the history of Iceland to supplement the Christmas customs. The tea/coffee/hot chocolate break was well-timed to get out of the cold. It was also a good way to get acquainted with downtown.”

Ring in New Year’s Eve from a Reykjavík yacht with champagne, coastal fireworks, and a chance to see the Northern Lights.

“Fireworks & random whale sighting was exciting however staff were not trying hard to hunt for Northern lights on a clear sky even though we had lots of time prior to midnight champagne & fireworks. Staff were nice but engaging.”
